Michelle Stanek is the USPDF 2012 Pro Champion, Pole Dance Universe 2011 Champion, a Pole Art 2011 Finalist (4th place), the USPDF 2011 Amateur Champion, the PFA “”Pole Drama” 2010 Champion and the Polesque 2010 Champion. She also had the honor of creating and performing a piece based on one of her favorite works of art, “The Ecstasy of St. Theresa” at Pole Art 2012. She is a founding member of the aerial dance company AERA and has been a guest performer with The Pulse Project.
With her colleagues Kyra Johannesen and Marlo Fisken, who she has worked with since 2009, Michelle is the he is the co-owner and creator of elevatED: pole dance fitness and flexibility teacher trainings.
Michelle has a background in dance from age 8, but it wasn’t until after college, graduate school, professorships in Art History and a full-time job as a nonprofit program director that Michelle has finally been able to call herself a dancer by profession. And it is because of pole. She has traveled to Dubai, Tokyo, Scandinavia, Europe, Russia, Australia, Africa, Brazil, Mexico, the Caribbean and around the U.S. to perform, teach workshops and judge pole dance competitions. When she is not traveling, she lives in New York City where she is an instructor and partner at Body & Pole.
