Bio:

Charley’s pole journey began in 2007 as she found herself yet again fired from yet another radio station. She began pole dancing as something to keep her mind busy while she enjoyed a generous severance package and thought about her future in a changing industry. She found pole dancing to be more than just a way to escape her unknown future, it was a way for her to reconnect with the self she had lost, the self she had never had and the self she wanted to be. The days turned into months and then a year had gone by and she was beginning to feel alive, hopeful and something new. That something new was self love, respect and kindness. She saw positive changes in her relationships and in her odd jobs. She realized it was the POLE. That single metal object that allowed her to express what she couldn’t describe was changing her in so many wonderful ways. The once insecure and afraid girl had grown into a strong and confident woman. As her body grew stronger so did her mind. She began teaching and sharing this amazing secret she had found. Through teaching something else brilliant happened. She found herself healing her relationship with her own gender! After having worked in male dominated industries and a tumultuous relationship her mother she was finally able to connect with women!

Currently Charley teaches privately, trains/choreographs for competitors, competes, performs and hosts events to celebrate every day pole dancers. She is in love with all facets of the sport, art and movement surrounding pole. Her journey has been full of success and failures, trophies and parting gifts, sickled feet and pointed toes and through it all she reminds herself that each failure is a win, each win is a blessing and each person is special. When her world isn’t about pole, it revolves around her partner of 13 years and their Savannah cat Jengo. She and her boyfriend share a mutual love of art, philosophy, beer and changing the world.
