Why do you Pole ?
Within the pole community I have found the first space that legitimizes and appreciates my artistic skill set. Having spent much of my adult life dancing in strip clubs, I had often thought while on stage: “too bad no one will ever respect what I’m doing as an art.” The pole community, however, has shown me that body waves, hair flips, and yes–even booty-bouncing–is not only art, but good filthy fun. Not all pole dance is sexy–but that’s how I like *my* pole dance. The pole community has legitimized that sexiness and enabled me to live confidently in the fullness of myself. POLE FTW!

“I was always an unusual girl; my mother told me that I had a chameleon soul. No moral compass pointing me due north, no fixed personality. Just an inner indecisiveness that was as wide, as wavering, as the ocean. And if I said that I didn’t plan for it to turn out this way I’d be lying–because I was born to be the other woman. Who belonged to no one–who belonged to everyone; who had nothing–who wanted everything; with a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom that terrified me to the point that I couldn’t even talk about–and pushed me to a nomadic point of madness that both dazzled and dizzied me.”
