Pole Fur Moms

By on May 29, 2017

May is the month of moms in the U.S. This year, we decided to celebrate a special kind of mom at Bad Kitty®: Fur Moms! We reached out to the Bad Kitty® Brand Ambassadors and other pole dancers we know with pets to ask them about their fur babies. Many of these furry friends are just as famous on Instagram as their moms are. Read on to meet some of our favorite fur moms.

Lithium (Samantha Star)

– What is your fur baby’s name and how long have you had her?

– Lithium. I’ve had her for 9 years. My insta & Snapchat handles are in homage to her: @lithiumkitten

– How much does your baby show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

– She is in my newsfeed when I film video at home. She is also meowing a lot in my Snapchats.

– How does she feel about the pole?

– She mostly ignores my pole at home but sometimes will lay down next to it.  The yoga mat however she’s all over.

Rio and Tammy (Sarah Scott)

– What are your fur babies’ names and how long have you had them?

– Big brown dog, Rio; is a rescue dog we’ve had around 4 years. And a white chunky one, Tammy, a 12 year old bulldog we’ve had from a puppy.

– How much do your babies show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

– All the time! They bomb my pole videos because they are always with me at my gym.

– How do they feel about the pole?

– They are pretty good when I’m training – they’ll find a watch point and chill but sometimes they get distracting and want attention – which they usually get!

Sadie, Frankie and Jane (Sarah Jade)

– What are your fur babies’ names and how long have you had them?

– My fur babies are Sadie, Frankie, and Jane and they are 10, 6, and 5. Their photos are courtesy of Images by Tamera

– How much do your babies show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

– Constantly! My oldest Sadie comes to my studio every Sunday for “Sadie Sunday’s.” Sadie has her own doggie door inside the studio and she is our studio mascot. She is in my videos and on our studio Instagram.

– How do they feel about the pole?

– My pooch gets very upset if I can’t take her to pole on a Sunday. She knows, and I get a pretty serious puppy-dog-eyed guilt trip.

Lola (Jessica Anderson-Gwin)

– What is your fur baby’s name and how long have you had her?

– My fur baby’s name is Lola aka Loafla, Nola, Lolabean, and I’ve had her for 3 years!

– How much does your baby show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

– My feed is 50% pole and aerial 50% LOLA.

– How does she feel about the pole?

–  As a curvy girl, Lola feels pole promotes positive body image, and is a great way to lick the faces of human friends with no chance of escape. Lola loves to warm up with fellow polers who are willing to share their mat space with her. She thoroughly enjoyed her photo shoot in Bad Kitty PoleFit!

Blu (Sergia Louise)

– What is your fur baby’s name?

– Blu the husky! The Vertitude mascot! Lol

– How much does your baby show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

– Pretty much all the time ❤️. Blu goes to the studio with me almost everyday when I’m not traveling.

– How does he feel about the pole?

–  Blu doesn’t mind his mommy spinning around on a pole all day long as long as he gets to hear me training or teaching from the lobby of the studio. He is sometimes at the studio with me all day, and really enjoys all the students showering him with attention on their way in and out of the studio.

Michi and Frou Frou (Mina Mortezaie)

– What are your fur babies’ names and how long have you had them?

– I have two amazing dogs. I rescued Michi about 3 years ago and a year later I rescued Frou Frou. Michi is a mix of possibly a beagle and pug. I recently ordered a DNA because people are always guessing her breed mix and I want to find out her true ancestry :). Can’t wait to see the results. Frou Frou is a little toy maltese and when I first rescued her, her name was Mina! I changed her name to avoid confusion and her full name is now “Lil Miss Frou Frou Lala Sassafras.” She is the happiest most energetic dog I have ever seen, she loves people and wags her tail so hard that her whole body shakes.

– How much do your babies show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

– My Instagram and Facebook feeds feature my dogs probably more than 50% of the time. I have only brought them around the pole a few times and they always get in the way and sometimes almost get kicked so I usually opt to keep them safe at home.

– How do they feel about the pole?

–  Curious and want to be all up in the mix! I also do yoga at home and they love to come lay down on the mat with me.

Maynard aka Neil Catrick Harris, Keile Dru and Bertie Brioche (Danielle Christine)

Danielle and Bertie

– What are your fur babies’ names and how long have you had them?

-Maynard aka Neil Catrick Harris, age 17 – I have had him since he was 6 weeks old; Kiele Dru, age 2 1/2 – we adopted her in Oct 2014; Bertie Brioche, age 1 – we adopted him in Aug 2016.

– How much do your babies show up in your pole pictures/newsfeeds?

-I don’t have a pole at home, but they do show up in any video I have of me trying conditioning at home (just try to do a handstand with a cat walking around), and they are generally all over my Instagram feed. They also have their own Instagram pages!

– How do they feel about the pole?

-I think they’d much rather Mommy stay home from teaching and practicing, in favor of cuddles.

Are you a fur mom with a pole? We want to see pictures of you and your fur baby (or babies)! Post in the comments section!
