Sunset Aerial Party in Hong Kong

By on September 5, 2017

Aerial Arts Academy (AAA), an aerial dance studio in Hong Kong, hosted an aerial showcase party in mid-August at CeLaVi in Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong. It was an eventful evening full of talents, laughter, and, of course, delicious cocktails!

Traditionally, the showcases were held on-site in one of AAA’s studios, where students spend dozens of hours polishing their art. However, due to the increasing popularity of aerial performances, the studio decided to host this “Sunset Party” at an exquisite venue in the hub of Hong Kong so more people could enjoy and interact with the apparati in a comfortable space.

CeLaVi, the bar which hosted an evening of fun and talent, is located in Lan Kwai Fong, which back in the day, housed many matchmakers and hawkers. During the mid 80s, this L-shaped, cobble-stoned lane transformed into the busiest square of Hong Kong now hosting numerous restaurants, bars, and clubs.

Not only did students performed on their favorite aerial apparatus, the studio also invited their audience to hop on the silks, hoops, and pole with guidance of their instructors. It was an interactive event where audience got to enjoy the view 20 plus floors above the busy streets of Hong Kong and sit back for a nice sunset cocktail.

The venue oversees a huge part of Hong Kong including several important financial centers, government buildings, as well as the word-famous Victoria Harbor. The dance floor is surrounded by couches, the DJ booth, and the bar (by the way, the cocktails were buy one get one free)!

It was house full of people with standing room only. Several award-winning teachers were performing with the students that evening, including Nic who performed a breath-taking routine on the hoop. The show ended on a high note with two sequences of sexy, exotic chair dance for four members from the audience. It totally raised the temperature in the bar!

How do you beat an event with a beautiful venue, talented people, a perfect blue sky, and, did I already mention their delicious buy one get one free cocktails!? We’re looking forward to the next one!
